Hautboy staple calculator

Here is a small tool for anyone who makes staples to mount reeds on, whatever the oboe. It works both ways:

• From staple to trapezium: from the inner diameters you want at the top and bottom, it works out the dimensions of the trapezium to mark out on the metal sheet.
• From trapezium to staple: from the dimensions of a trapezium, it gives the top and bottom diameters of the staple once rolled.

The calculation assumes that the edges of the sheet meet without overlapping.
